Alicia Silverstone in a “Clueless” promo shoot, 1995
*acts clueless but actually knows what’s going on at all times*
i’m one of those annoying people who’s always like “omg i know that actor from somewhere omg i recognize them whAT WERE THEY IN” when watching tv shows/movies who then proceeds to look it up on their phone and inform everyone that said actor was an extra in an episode of some stupid 90s sitcom once
I’m half Moroccan, half Egyptian, and I was born in Amsterdam. I’m Muslim, and I’m super proud of my heritage and of my roots. I want to be a role model for young girls who are struggling with racism or struggling with their looks or with their skin color. I had Naomi Campbell, who I looked up to as a black powerful woman. But there aren’t many Arabic models, and being an African-Arabic model, I’m trying to open doors for more Arabic girls.
henlo just a ~reminder~ that western countries such as the US and UK benefit off of the instability in the middle east and are KNOWN for going into middle eastern countries not to ~spread democracy~ but to cause turmoil.
don’t forget that the US had a hand in creating the Mujahideen in order to spy on Russia during the cold war, later turning into al qaeda. dont forget that the US government replaced the democratically elected prime minister of iran (the 1953 coup), placing the shah in power, which then spurred the “islamic revolution” of the 1970s, leading to the government that is now in place. all because the prime minister wanted to nationalize iranian oil. dont forget that the iraq war wasnt about ~spreading democracy~ or ~weapons of mass destruction~ or even sadam hussein but because iraq wanted to nationalize their oil.
the instability in the middle east was created by the United States and other Western countries, and now they’re furthering that instability.
so the us, uk, and french missiles are NOT surprising. trump sending missiles into syria is what EVERY western country has done to the middle east since the 90s and early 2000s. its NOT surprising to see so many praise trump for ~his actions against assad~ when domestic militarization (aka using the excuse of “theyre killing women and children so we MUST fight back !1!”) is a trend in american politics.
i LITERALLy was asked what i thought trump was going to do syria on TUESDAY and i LITERALLY said that he was going to bomb the country
its a cycle that many western media outlets and many white americans REFUSE to acknowledge. and im TIREDT
a straight person reviewing a gay movie: This was gay….. in a similar way that this other Gay movie [insert title here] was Gay. it reminded me of that movie so i’m going to compare the two movies in my review, because they were both gay
it genuinely baffles me when people say 80s fashion was ugly as if early 00s fashion wasn’t the greatest crime against humanity committed on historical record
me: have you seen this movie–

“I wanna thank hollywood for taking a chance on this movie and believing that an audience for it could exist”
Sorry but they keep saying this shit about La La Land and nothing even against the movie itself but how the fuck was it such a struggle for them to get a musical with generic extremely likeable white leads to be made and it feels so annoying especially in a year when the other frontrunner is Moonlight - a movie based on a screenplay that had institutional racism and privilege preventing it from being made for years???
